About ANSWER HF
ANSWER-HF is a multi-institutional, interdisciplinary consortium that aims to advance knowledge and care quality for patients requiring heart replacement therapies through collaborative research.
Our “Why”: Supporting Advanced Heart Failure Research
Heart failure is a disease that is responsible for 13.9% of deaths annually (www.cdc.org) in the United States. While mechanical circulatory support (including LVAD) and heart transplant can remarkably improve the survival of patients with end-stage heart failure, fewer than 8000 persons a year in the U.S. are offered these treatments. The members of ANSWER HF have a unified goal of improving patient outcomes and addressing this disparate access to advanced heart failure surgical therapies.
About the ANSWER HF Registry
The ANSWER HF registry is composed of high quality, patient level data designed to capture the entire journey of the patient with advanced heart failure. As the registry evolves, the ANSWER HF registry strives to expand upon patient reported outcomes, behavioral science, and human factors research.
- Our Vision -
To be a scientifically rigorous network of research committed to excellence, innovation, and continuous learning studying outcomes and best practices at the national and institutional levels to advance patient -centered care for individuals with advanced heart failure that continuously contributes to a world where every patient has equitable access to the optimal treatments and technologies.
