Dr. Katherine Wood is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.  Her research has focused on sternal sparing LVAD implant, ECMO support, and implementation of Enhanced Recovery after Cardiac Surgery (ERAS) interventions in patients undergoing advanced heart failure surgery.  In 2023, she participated as a coauthor on the Intermacs annual report, and she has served as a consultant or study team member for several transformative LVAD trials.
