Dr. Kanwar is an advanced heart failure physician with expertise in the management of patients with cardiogenic shock, end stage heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Kanwar is a prolific clinical researcher, with over 100 peer reviewed manuscripts.  She led the 2023 ISHLT consensus conference on cardiogenic shock, and played a pivotal role in the 2023 ISHLT MCS guidelines and in the MOMENTUM 3 clinical trial sub-analyses.  Importantly, she led an analysis examining implant center variability in outcome following LVAD placement. Most recently, her research has focused on the art of decision making using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In addition to ANSWER HF, she participates in the Cardiogenic Shock Working Group.  She was elected to the Board of Directors for the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and serves as a deputy editor for the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
