Matthew Lander, MD
Matthew M. Lander, MD, FACC is a faculty member in the Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Cardiac Transplantation and pulmonary hypertension program in the Cardiovascular Institute of Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA. He earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, completed Internal Medicine residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and completed fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. In 2024 he was named medical director for the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program. He has a special interest in the utilization of advanced technologies/devices and their application in advanced heart failure as well as severe valvular heart disease. He is a member of the multi-disciplinary AGH mitral valve disease group and is an investigator in several clinical trials. He is a recipient of a grant from the Pittsburgh Foundation to study heart failure referral demographics with utilization of automated EHR referrals in hopes of improving referral of underserved populations.
