Renzo Y Loyaga Rendon, MD, PhD
Dr. Renzo Loyaga-Rendon is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist at Corewell Health West and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University. He is the Medical Director of Research at the Frederik Meijer Heart and Vascular Institute and Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology Fellowship Program. He is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Failure Society of America, the American Society of Transplantation, and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dr. Loyaga-Rendon’s clinical and research interests relate to advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary hypertension. His most recent research work has focused on predicting outcomes after durable LVAD implantation and heart transplant, disparities in waitlist and post-transplant survival, and outcomes in cardiogenic shock patients supported with ECMO.
